I just listened to this episode. My knee surgery has me behind in my podcast listening.

I just wanted to say that I enjoyed listening to this episode tremendously.

You should consider lengthening your episodes by 5 or ten minutes.

[...] This episode spoils the ending of “Children of Men”, so only listen if you have already seen the movie. Luke and his Dad have a great discussion about the movie. They hit on something that I never considered: the spread of information technology may empower the third world to revolt against the wealth of the first world. [...]

No doubt, 24 has a lot of right-wing fantasies in it. I'm liberal and a huge fan of 24, though, and I think the show does a great job of including ethics debates and questioning tactics.

Bottom line, though, is that for the left and the right, the people on 24 represent different things. For the right, a powerful president and Jack Bauer represent the right's leadership. For the left, a powerful president on 24 is a condemnation by comparison, showing what the right's leadership lacks. Jack Bauer may justify torture, but only because we, the viewers, trust Jack. I don't think that message translates to the real world -- a world where Jack doesn't exist.

Yac, Thanks for the comment, Luke called me about it.
Calling it a civil war won't stop it, but 80% of the Iraq's
want us out. Give the Sunni's 20% of the oil revenues
and the violence will stop overnight. They have no money
or prospects for an economy without a part of the oil.
Will talk to you before the holiday.

Dear Nadis and Claude,
Thanks for the comment, Luke and I appreciate it.
In regard to the visit and dinner that I was honored
to attend, a thank you to all as well! As you can imagine, visiting one's home and sharing the table in
a different country and culture is very exciting.
You may know I am emotionally tied to Monika and Matthius, visiting with them was thrilling for me.
I happily extend an invitation to our homes in the U.S.whenever possible for you.
Keep in touch, you have my email, it would be nice.

In friendship and respect,
eddie

all tomfoolery aside...episode 11 was an incredible political conversation, just fascinating. Funny how around 100 years ago, Italians moved to Hazleton and then the Italian culture diffused around the country...from Sinatra to Zappa... The same thing is happening right now in H town but the cultural aspects have hit the main stream a little earlier... its like butter...discuss...MOO

Skype is the beesknees!

Ed and yourself in GRIPPING conversation, tried to explain how the government messes everything up so badly. You both eluded slightly that a logical explanation would be that it's done on purpose. Is it? If big brother IS watching what is its' modus operandi? What's the deal with invisable hands? Not just for the mob anymore}:)

Forget Barak, I'm voting for Ed Ferdinand! He's got my evote.
