30: Homecoming

February 27th, 2007

Listen to Episode 30.

After another hiatus we return with a new slightly longer format. New episodes will be released once a week from now on.

Returning to our roots in Hazleton, Pennsylvania, Luke and His Dad recorded the episode in the basement of our family home. No real show notes this time around, but we did discuss the primaries, Hazleton politics, familial influence on personal politics, and the very mixed feelings about moving Ed’s 93 year old mom into an assisted living facility.

The music during the break was supplied with much love but no permission by Six Organs of Admittance, from the record For Octavio Paz.

As usual, send as an email or voice mail through lukeandhisdad -at- gmail, gchat, Skype, the Gizmo project or 412-567-2979.

See you next week!

    22: The Predictions

    January 8th, 2007

    Listen to Episode 22.

We’re back! Two episodes a week, Monday and Thursday morning, for the foreseeable future.

Predictions for ‘07, on January 07, 07 (Please take these as a bit of kidding on the square):

    Dad:

    • GW Bush will be impeached, GHW Bush’s health will fail, Cheney will step down, Pelosi becomes PRESIDENT

    Luke:

    • The US Economy will suffer a tremendous blow- the Dow will drop well below 10000 again, gas prises will rise, the housing market will continue to decline and inflation will continue. This will not be a second great depression or anything, but things will tighten significantly.

    Dad:

    • Big moves out of Iraq by the end of 2007. Luke disagrees- early 2008.
    • Major extreme weather coming.

    Luke

    • Google stock will lose half of its value this year, based on a loss of credibility as Google gets bigger and branches out, as well as the market realizing that AdSense is not as transparent, or useful as it should be. $250 or less. $485 today.

    Luke’s resolutions:

    • Eat slower and less
    • Continue working out.
    • Buy a home by August 2007.
    • Be a better podcaster.

Lofty? Not really, but something to work on anyway.
